We had a Felixstowe sailers day out to West Mersea because of the offshore wind.Our 4 sailers used sails ranging from 4.2 to 5.6 with the 5.6 being abit of a handfull in the Mersea short chop !!!! I crossed the river 7 times in total - it did save on the gybing as it was abit hairy in the middle of the river !!!! A good 2hrs 22mins on the water making the 80 mile round trip worth it,even though I shredded one of my trailor tyres on the way home and was lucky not to lose my trailor !!!!!
